Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) commonly called as laser eye surgery usually use for the correction of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. This technology has becoming in-demand in some part of the world as shown by the increased number of people undergone to the surgery.

In the US, more than 16 million people got vision correction procedures in 2011 alone. Here in the state of Illinois, hundreds of thousands of patients flock to Chicago LASIK surgeons, and many other instances in the other states — showing peoples interest to the new technology on eye surgery.

However, there are things you may need to think before deciding to undergo LASIK surgery here are some simple, but very important tips that you may need to know before signing that waiver.

First of all, you have to do research on your own. Never forget to understand how LASIK procedure is done and things you need to do. Check out information that prep-up you before the procedure. Learn what you need to do. Learn what sorts of medication that the doctor will give you. Talk about this to your eye doctor. Do not be afraid to ask questions. The more information you know, the less likely you will feel uneasy about it.

Also do not forget to check out information about the doctors and the institutions who would be handling you. A quick look online can tell you so much information about the integrity of the people who you are dealing with. Search for scams and even court cases about them.

Learn about the financial side of the procedure. Find out how much you need to pay and how much your health insurance can cover. Do not forget to search for the cost of your medications before the procedure.

And lastly, never forget to settle things with your employer. Of course you can file a sick leave, but make sure to check whether your office will allow you to be absent on the dates you are planning to have the procedure. It is not just about your boss, remember, the tasks that you will leave behind will pile up on you even if you are on leave. Make sure to learn the schedule that you are most likely free of any tasks!

Inabraw – an exploratory blog for vegetables is an exploratory site for vegetables, herbs and spices and any indigenous plants and animals that are sometimes neglected, however, if they can be use wisely – they are very important not only to health but also in our daily chores of living.

Inabraw is known as an ilocano delicacy composed of assorted (samut-sari) freshly picked vegetables mixed with fried fish or meat simmered in water with bagoong (fish paste) and other ordinary spices. In fact, it is a native dish favorite of most Ilocano’s if not all.

Usually when we say “inabraw” – it appears to be a cooking site, though however, inabraw for me is lot of things more than just a mere native cooking style.

This site, like “inabraw” it features everything (samut-sari) which are worth knowing about these indigenous herbs and spices and other all vegetables. It tries to dig-out the nutritious components as well as the healing or medicinal values that can be obtain from it and therefore promote to increase the consumption of the same for better nutrition and for better health of the people.

For more information or if you want to be part of this advocacy and wishes to post your articles about indigenous vegetables, (your authorship will be preserved or it includes your name as by-line). Please email me at
